Garoto, the genius of the strings

Synopsis

• Using the sound and the radio aesthetics as the main guide, the film makes a portrait of Garoto based on the concept of "life and music": showing who he was through the meaning and history of his compositions. To do this, it relies on rare material from radio archive, musical performances and testimonials from the great masters of today and visual interpretations from the director about the pieces. In parallel, three years of personal journals of Garoto will outline in the screen the dramas of a musician, besides illustrating his strong presence in the Golden Era of the Brazilian radio, in which he was the protagonist and whose beginning and end coincides with the birth and death of Garoto. Visual aids such as animations, stagings, collages and iconography from that time will be responsible for giving life to this character, of whom remained essentially the sounds - magnificent and forgotten.
