Prime Time Soap

Synopsis
  • In 1978, still under dictatorship, Brazil succumbs to disco through the soap opera Dancin’ Days. Amanda, a call girl addicted to television drama, and her “housemaid” Dora, run away from Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro. The policeman Brandão is after them and in this way their fates will cross with other misfits: Joao Paulo, a diplomat who feels alien in his own country; the revolutionary Vicente and his brother Pedro; Caio, a teenager, who was raised by his grandparents and has the help of Monica in the struggle to be accepted as gay. Both are young and fascinated by disco music and the soap opera Dancin’ Days.
